Hello! Meet Tymon Whitfield, our Health Associate and read about all things HEALTH!tymon


What is my role here at United Way in the health initiative? It means I’ve got a lot to do! I’m going to start with empowering people to lead healthier lives! So stay tuned for my blog and vlog and I will share what I know!

I know it’s hard to go to the gym but we all need to, I need to go and a little motivation sure helps. There are programs in place to help keep you and your waistline under control.

YMCA:

The YMCA offers tons of ways to get you and your family moving; yoga, swimming, basketball, racquetball are just the beginning of ways to get in better shape, get connected to your community, and make new friends.


Carver Community Center:

Try a boxing class (men, women, kids), great way to burn calories, open gym (basketball, walking), or a nutritious class offered by Purdue Extension, call 765.457-9318 for dates and times. They have something for everyone!

Walking Trails:

Don’t forget about the Industrial Heritage (4 miles) and Excellence Trails (3.5 miles) right here in Howard County. Almost 10 miles of trails in the City reveal murals and beautiful landscaping both natural and industrial.
