Christmas Food Program

This programs assists families and individuals in Howard County with a warm Christmas dinner around the holidays.

Applications for the Christmas Food program can be filled out and collected at The Salvation Army located at 1105 South Waugh Street Kokomo, IN 46902. Please bring the following information with you to the Salvation Army at the time of applying: Photo ID and proof of address, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate or Medicaid Card for each child, proof of income and expenses for the last 30 days.

Coats for Kids Program

This program provides coats and winter gear to families with children ages infant to 18-years-old who reside in Howard County. 

Coats will be available for pickup starting October 1 with a scheduled appointment with The Salvation Army. Appointments are avilable on Monday and Tuesday’s through the month of October. Please call (765) 456-3846 to schedule an appointment. 

Please bring the following items with you to your appointment: Photo ID, Proof of Address, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate or Medicaid Card for each child. 

C.A.M. Christmas Party

This program provides one Christmas gift per applicant at their annual Christmas Party in December. 

Applications for receiving a gift will open on October 21 and close on November 15. Please call 765-452-8963 or walk-in at 210 N Market St Kokomo, IN 46901 on the following dates/times to apply:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. /  Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to Noon 

Please bring a valid Indiana Photo ID when applying. 

Red Ribbon Christmas

Kokomo Rescue Mission Red Ribbon Christmas offers Christmas meal and gifts to families in Howard County.

To apply for Red Ribbon Christmas, please bring the following information: a current government photo ID for the person applying, Social Security card for everyone over the age of 1 years-old (birth certificate necessary for infants under 1 years-old). Proof of household income is required, please bring one of the following: copy of 2018 IRS 1040 tax form, letter from FSSA documenting Food Stamp approval, SNAP Card along with grocery receipt in the last 30 days, recent award letter from Medicaid, TANF, WIC, SSI or SSDI, a copy of your lease or most recent re-certification letter showing you currently live in subsidized housing (you receive assistance forpaying your rent).

Christmas Assistance Programs

Goodfellows, Toys for Tots and Cops for Kids program’s assists low-income families with children under the age of 18 with clothing, gifts and toys for the holidays. 

To register for any of the programs listed above, please fill out a(n) application(s) on one of the below dates and times. Please bring the following items with you at registration: Photo ID, Social Security Card and Birth Certificate for every member in the household, proof of income for the household, gross income for in the last 30 days, Food Stamp Case Number (bring card or letter with number), and any paperwork proving guardianship of children. 

Children ages newborn to 15 years, and 16-18 year olds with verifications of school registration are eligible for Goodfellows Christmas provided they reside in Howard County. Questions? Call (765) 432-1143

Tipton County Jubilee Christmas

Tipton County families can apply to be adopted by local churches that will host a Christmas party and provide toys, gifts and a meal to the family. Families must live in Tipton County and have children under the age of 18 years-old. Please bring the following items with you to apply for assistance: Valid photo ID for all adults in the household, proof of residency, proof of income (one of the following: most recent pay stub or W2’s for 2018).

IU Health Coat Drive - Tipton

Tipton County coat collection and distribution program. Coat collection will happen until November 1 and distribution will begin November 6. Call to determine drop-off locations for donations. There are no eligibility guidelines to receive a coat through this program. 

Coat distribution will be November 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. or until coats are gone. First come, first served.
